Warm temperatures Friday, but cool down by weekend

After a nice morning with temps mostly in the 50s and 60s, temperatures are rising in the afternoon.

Afternoon temperatures are forecast to rise similar to Thursday, into the mid to upper 80s. In El Paso, the forecast high is 88 degrees– the same as yesterday.

Temperatures are forecast to drop into the 50s again overnight.

A series of troughs, or storm systems from the northwest, will bring cooler and more moist air into the region for the weekend and early next week.

There is a 10 percent chance of rain in El Paso beginning Sunday and a 30 percent chance Monday.

The rain chance sits at 20 percent Tuesday through Wednesday.

Conditions will be partly cloudy and windy to breezy through the weekend.

Temperatures will drop to the low 80s and upper 70s in El Paso through next week.
