City’s Environmental Services Dept. wants customers to turn in unpaid-for extra trash bins
The Environmental Services Department (ESD) will be holding a trash bin recovery drive this month for customers who are not paying for extra trash bins.
ESD recently performed an audit that found at least 500 bins are being used by customers that are not being paid for.
The City is asking customers to drop off the containers at any of four Citizen Collection Stations located throughout the city.
Customers returning a bin will only need to provide their address, no other information will be requested.
Citizen Collection Stations, open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday
Central: 2492 Harrison
Westside: 121 Atlantic
Eastside: 1034 Pendale
Northeast: 4501 Hondo Pass (entrance off Stahala)
ESD provides all solid waste customers with one gray bin for household trash and one blue bin for recyclables. Customers are limited to one blue bin.
Customers who would like to keep an unpaid trash bin are asked to call (915) 212-6031 to adjust their billing. An extra gray bin is available for a monthly fee of $17 plus tax per bin. Customers who do not return unpaid trash bins risk being billed for their extra container(s).
The efforts of the Environmental Services Department support the City’s strategic goal to nurture and promote a healthy, sustainable community. For more information on the trash bin recovery drive or services offered by ESD, please visit www.elpasotexas.gov or call 3-1-1.
