Family of Valkon Villagrana Needs Help With Funeral Expenses

New Mexico State Police say a boy has died and eight others, including six children, were injured in a rollover crash in Eddy County.

Sgt. Elizabeth Armijo says 31-year-old Angela Sotelo, of Hobbs, was driving late Friday south of Carlsbad on US 62/180 when a tire blew, causing the vehicle to lose control and roll into the median.

Armijo says Sotelo’s three children, her sister and her sister’s four children were in the car.

Investigators say 7-year-old Vialkon Villagrana was thrown from the car and died at the scene. They say he and another child weren’t properly restrained.

The other occupants were all taken to a hospital in El Paso, Texas. One child has been treated and released. The others are in critical condition.

The crash is still under investigation.

The account to help pay for funeral expenses is at FirstLight Federal Credit Union and ask for the SOTELO/DAVIS FAMILY MEMORIAL FUND.
