calling out to all skaters in the las cruces and el paso area! a skate jam is getting underway at the las cruces skate park. the free event kicked off at noon and will go on till 11 p.m. there will be food, live music, art and a skate competition… and its welcome for anyone to attend. the organizers who put on the event are the owners of the barricade culture shop. they tell us the jam is an effort to bring skaters together from all areas and ages: “and that’s the cool thing abou skateboarding is it’s such a wide range, a wide demographic, we have like older kids, younger kids, like the older elders that the younger kids respect and everybody’s going to be here.” depending on the outcome of the event organizers tell us they hope to make the jam an annual event. damaged cars are rarely a good thing. one
