Train accident kills a man in the lower valley

Around four o’clock in the morning police say a 25-year-old man by the name of Jesus Manuel lopez was struck by a train. The accident happened on the 8100 block of Carpenter in the lower valley.

According to police Lopez was trying to cross the train tracks when the train started coming towards him. Lopez kept walking and thats when police say the train struck him. He was then taken to Del Sol Medical Center where he died. Investigators are still trying to find out if alcohol played a role in the accident.
