2 council members don’t agree with City Rep. Noe’s election as mayor pro tem

City Rep. Michiel Noe was elected mayor pro tem on Tuesday City Rep. Larry Romero elected alternate mayor pro tempore.

City Rep. Carl Robinson opposed Noe’s nomination, saying that the mayor pro tem should be a position occupied by a full time representative and a respected member of council.

Noe is a medical doctor with a private practice.

City Rep. Lily Limon also did not vote in favor of Noe as mayor pro tem.

Mayor Oscar Leeser said Noe is a well-respected member of the community and has the trust and confidence of his colleagues.

The mayor pro tem performs the duty of mayor during City Council meetings when the mayor is not present.
