Anthony getting own Motor Vehicle Division office

The city of Anthony, New Mexico has demolished a part of city hall to make room for a Motor Vehicle Division office this year.

Anthony Mayor Arnulfo Castaeda says the new office will boost revenue for the town.

The office is projected to process 1,300 transactions each month, amounting to a $50,000 contribution to the town in its first year.

Currently, many residents have to drive 20 to 40 miles to DMV offices in other cities.

Remodeling of city hall is set to start in a month and the office will be offering services by December.
