Friends remember Taylor Garza; killed with two brothers, mother in crash

Friends of Taylor gathered give their last goodbyes Monday night at Texas Roadhouse.

Garza was from Arizona, but moved here with her family about two years ago. She impacted so many people, so deeply in such a short period of time.

“All of us were working, they put us together as a family and they told us together,” said friend Ceci Bernal.

The eldest of four and her parents first born, Taylor Garza was also Bernal’s best friend and Khloe Kendrick’s closest co-worker.

“It’s like you’re losing your best friend,” Bernal said. “It’s like your hearts broken, you’re losing your other half.”

“We’re all such a big family and she was one of the best people here,” Kendrick said. “And she was kind of there for everybody, and she didn’t have any bad feelings for anyone. She was just a good person so it was tragic for everyone.”

The 18-year-old worked at Texas Roadhouse for nearly two years. There she made memories and extra money while attending Franklin High. Her goal to one day be an FBI agent. Her friends said the tragedy of Taylor’s death is that it was instant, she was taken so fast. One day they had their friend, and her father had his daughter, his wife and two sons. The next day, they were gone.

Texas Roadhouse is changing Willie’s Corner to Taylor’s. There her friends will put their goodbyes, and there her memory will survive.

“Be with the ones you love and make sure they know that you love them,” Kendrick said.
