Estela’s Escuelas: YISD school gets new laptops

now have a new tool to help them learn! in today’s estela’s escuelas… students were given a free laptop to use as part of the “engage me” initiative. it was created to help students who may not have access to a computer at home. ystela school district superintendent xavier de la torre was there to personally distribute the laptops. after getting a brief lesson on how to use the computers, the students were allowed to take their new laptops home so they can use them outside of school. for now,the initiative will give all third, fourth and seventh graders free laptops. the district hopes to give all students a laptop in the near future: whether it’s a laptop or an ipad what’s important is that they can have access to the internet, access to their teachers so each of these laptops have had special programs downloaded on to the device so that the child noes not necessarily have to have access to the internet they can continue to learn using the apps that have been downloaded. the students will return the laptops at the end of the year:
