El Paso Fire Dept. unable to find cause of house fire that killed 2 elderly people this month

Investigators were not able to find the cause of a house fire that killed two people in mid-December.

El Paso Police have ruled the fire as not a homicide and accidental. The El Paso Fire Department has ruled the cause of fire is “undetermined” because there was not sufficient evidence to rule anything in particular was the cause.

The fire occurred in the 1800 block of Tom Bolt just before 11 p.m. On Dec. 18. The location is near Trawood in East El Paso.

The man, identified as 77-year-old Guillermo Franco, died inside the home.

The woman, identified as 76-year-old Natalia De La Pena Franco, was transported to the hospital where she died.
