abc-seven working to keep you safe while on the roads tonight and tomorrow morning. we just spoke with a driving school instructor who shares some tips you’ll definitely need to know if you have to be on the road. conditions are already starting to change right now. good evening and thank you for joing us on abc- seven at six . i’m maria garcia in for estela casas. and i’m rick cabrera. if you have to drive anywhere tonight or tomorrow morning, take a few minutes and listen to chief meteorologist “doppler” dave speelman. he has brand new information from the stormtrack weather lab tonight. we are expected the roads to ice over tonight… and stay that way through tomorrow morning. abc-seven stormtracker nichole spent the day learning how to handle a car when hitting a patch of ice. it’s a story that could keep you safe. nichole has our new information tonight outside our studio. the temperatures are cold and there is still ice on some roads, particularly bridges. if you’re not careful you could be putting your life or someone elses life in danger. icy roads are a threat we deal with every winter. the winter storm that dumped 8 inches of snow at the airport over the weekend may be gone… but it’s still left a mark on the sun city. christian valles has been a driving instructor for 13 years. he says el paso drivers are not used to driving in trecherous weather conditions. it’s best to stay off the roads during severe weather. if you must drive, give your self enough time to get from one location to another. valles says icy road accidents happen in mulitiples…go easy on your brakes. if you drive into a slick spot, turn into the slide. ” turn the steering wheel in th direction of the skid so if the car begins to skid to your right, you turn the wheel to the right. eventually when the car slows down you will gain control of your car. you’ll want to keep these tips in mind this weekend. we are tracking a cold front that will bring cooler temperatures along with a few rain and snow showers. doppler dave will have details in stormtrack weather. speaking of the roads… there are some slick spots on the road already. so
