UTEP Students will return to campus Tuesday, Jan. 19 to begin the Spring 2016 semester.

The UTEP Office of Student Life will host “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: A Day of Remembrance” 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19 at Centennial Plaza.

El Paso City Offices:

El Paso City Hall and all City department administrative office will be closed on Monday, January 18. City Hall and all administrative offices resume regular business hours at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19.

The following services and facilities will be open/closed for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day:

• Sun Metro’s regular (fixed route) and LIFT (paratransit) service operate on normal schedule
• Animal Services Shelter, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• El Paso Zoo
• Indoor and outdoor aquatic centers and pools
• Recreation Centers:
o Armijo
o Galatzan
o Gary del Palacio
o Leona F. Washington
o Martin Robbins
o Pavo Real
o Veterans

Sun Metro’s fixed route and LIFT, paratransit, services will operate on a regular weekday schedule on Martin Luther King Day, Monday, Jan. 18.

Sun Metro’s customer service line, 212-3333, will be available from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sun Metro ticket offices also will be open.

The administrative offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 18, in observation of the holiday, returning to a regular schedule on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

El Paso County

County offices will be closed.The El Paso County Courthouse will be closedin observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, January 19th.

Dona Ana County

Most Dona Ana County offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, to allow employees to observe the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday. Emergency services and law enforcement in the field will not be affected, but the administrative offices of the Doa Ana County Sheriff’s Department will be closed.

City of Las Cruces

City of Las Cruces offices will be closed for the holiday.

Other Closures

Federal government offices and bank services will be closed. The U.S. Postal Service will acknowledge the holiday.
