the introduction of space-ship-rocket- two- – also known as unity– means a test flight is in the works– possibly in the next few months, meaning a boost in revenue for new mexico’s spaceport america. it’s the first time virgin galactic is testing a flight since the 20-14 accident that killed a test pilot. the ntsb ruled it to be human error. the building of unity was in the works since 2012 but not ready to be a back-up after the deadly test flight. company officials say each component has undergone rigorous testing before assembly. new features have been added to prevent a similar accident from taking place. “you walk through this hangar and everyone is so excited to be a part of it, everyone shares the same goal of wanting to see this thing happen, and see people get into space and see the world for what it is. as one planet there.” the big question on many people’s minds … when will virgin galactic finally start flying from spaceport america?
