Traffic snarled on Gateway West after rollover near Eastlake

Traffic was snarled in East El Paso early Friday morning after a rollover near Horizon.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of Gateway West and and Halstead. It involved a Jeep Cherokee. Life Ambulance says two people were hospitalized. Sheriff’s deputies say the victims were two men in their 20s who were ejected from the vehicle. One of them is said to be in serious condition.

According to ABC-7’s Round the Clock crew on the scene, Gateway West is closed to traffic but I-10 remains open. As of 7 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies expect the scene to be cleared in two hours.
