Las Cruces man allegedly molested girl while mother was away at work
A Las Cruces man allegedly touched a 12-year-old girl inappropriately while her mother was at work Saturday, police said.
Josue Ortizornelas, 28, who is close to the family, was charged with one count of criminal sexual contact of a minor, a third-degree felony.
The girl had gone to sleep before Ortizornelas climbed into bed with the girl and allegedly touched her inappropriately, investigators said.
The girl’s mother found out about the incident Monday and filed a report with police.
Ortizornelas was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center early Tuesday morning. He has since been released on a $5,000 secured bond.
