accused of sexually assaulting two young girls wants his name cleared after the prosecution dismissed all charges against him. abc-7 reporter evan folan is with our new mexico mobile newsroom today. he’s live with new information. evan? anthony bramblett was facing 9 felony charges for allegedly raping a 13 year old girl and sexually assaulting a second girl. but now, according to these documents, the charges have been dropped. bramblett says the victims recanted their stories shortly after his arrest in june… 8 months later, the prosecution dismissed the last of the sexual assault charges. court documents state there wasn’t enough evidence to produce a trial and it was in the best interest of justice. since the accusations, bramblett says he’s struggled to get his life back to normal. “everyone just looks at you different. they think you are this monster. they put you out there to be – that wasn’t me. plus there are a ton of places you have to stay away from and when you’re walking by people that have kids they just pull their kids away.” again, these charges were only dismissed after a change in the evidence – which means the prosecutors can refile the case if they need to – or if find more evidence to charge bramblett. reporting live from the dona ana county sheriffs deparment. edf abc 7
