Overnight crash leaves one dead

One man is dead after an overnight two-vehicle crash.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. Saturday morning on the I-10 East on-ramp at Franklin.

According to police, the 19-year-old driver lost control of his Porsche Boxster and hit a Chrysler Town & Country minivan.

The crash caused the two passengers in the mini-van to be ejected. Francisco Carrasco III, 40, died at the scene from his injuries. The other passenger was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the driver was treated at the scene.

The 19-year-old driver and his passenger Elia Jackson, 19, were both transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe that speed and alcohol are factors in the crash.

The identity of the 19-year-old driver is being withheld due to the potential for criminal charges being filed in this case.
