front will arrive from the north overnight and manage to drop temperatures back to near normal for easter sunday. sunday will also feature mostly sunny skies and lighter winds across the area. meanwhile a fairly large weather system will begin to take shape over the western united states by early next week. this will result in increasing winds and temperatures for the area monday and tuesday with an increase in clouds and even a slight chance for showers by late next week as the storm system moves overhead. this morning christians are waking up to easter celebrations happening news alert? we just won the state of washington and sanders’ victories didn’t stop there. the democrat went on to win alaska and hawaii too. he says it’s part of his western comeback. the vermont senator has 36 new delegates this morning compared to clinton’s 11. but it’s not over yet. some delegates from washington won’t be given until weeks from now and only 88-percent of hawaii’s votes have been counted. but so far he’s leading the state 71-percent to clinton’s 29. we’ll have more from the race — including clinton’s response — a little later. belgian prosecutors announced they have charged three men with terror offenses over the suicide attacks on the brussels airport and subway raids have been going on throughout europe. federal prosecutors have charged a man identified as faycal c. for “involvement in terrorist group, terrorist murder and attempted terrorist murder.” he’s allegedly on of the men seen on airport video. prosecutors say two other suspects have been charged with “involvement in the activities of a terrorist group.” a fourth man, taken into custody friday after he was shot by police at a brussels tram stop, is currently being held. meanwhile, italian police in the southern city of salerno say they’ve arrested an algerian wanted in belgium for facilitating illegal migration linked to the attacks in paris. this morning organizers postponed a solidarity march in brussels because of the overburdened security services. they were responding to suggestions from the government that they wait. however citizens still went to the memorial site at the place de la bourse in brussels last night to share their solidarity. one man is dead – after last nights crash on i-10. police say the crash happened around 2 yesterday morning at the franklin on- ramp on i-10 east. our round the clock news crew were on scene as special traffic investigators were still working. according to police – a 19-year-old man lost control of his vehicle and hit the minivan you see on your screen. the two passengers inside the van were ejected — including 40-year-old francisco carrasco. he died at the scene. four others had non-life threatening injuries. police say alcohol and speeding may have caused the crash. no charges has been filed at this time. and that crash still has a lot of you talking. when we posted the story online yesterday – many had a lot to say… family and friends of francisco carrasco were in disbelief of his death. reporter jerry najera – spoke to some of carrasco’s friends. the outpouring of condolences for francisco – known as frankie and his family has been very emotional. friends of frankie tell me he was an amazing person who’s life was taken too soon. “i’ve known frankie for about 15 years” “i’ve known him since 1992” close friends of carrasco cynthia- acosta-villalb a and jesus padilla say carrasco was a outgoing and uplifting person “friankie was very contagious “funny omg he was so hiilarious” “no matte what time of day it was no matter what the mood called for he was always there to make you laugh” but the 40 year old also had a dedicated hard working side. “he was studyin really hard” ” was studying for business he had high goals for himself” “durin the day he would map himself out and close himself out and study very hard” althoug carrascos friends still have a hard time believing he’s gone they say they still have memories to cherish “calling me telling me i was his favorite rainbow queen” “waking u everyday and seeing what kind of mischief he was going to get into” franki carrascos last post on facebook was a quote from eleanor rosavelt it states “the futur belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” and continuing with our round the clock news. still no arrests have been made in a stabbing that police are saying could possibly be gang related it happened last night shortly before three yesterday morning on the 13-hundred block of lee trevino at liquor dicks. the stabbing sent three people to the hospital. police say the victims were approached outside the bar – by two men. according to police those two men had been kicked out of the bar earlier that night. police say one of the men pulled out a knife and started stabbing the three victims. witnesses called the police and while officers were responding – the two men got into a car – and drove away – running over one of the victims as they were leaving. all three victims were transported to area hospitals with non- life threatening injuries. a u-s marine who was killed fighting i-s-i-s in iraq has made his final trip back home. the remains of staff sergeant louis cardin arrived in riverside county, california, yesterday afternoon. he was among several hundred marines deployed as part of operation inherent resolve. but officials say cardin was mortally wounded during an i-s-i-s attack on his base last saturday. he had served three tours of duty in afghanistan before his deployment to iraq. a public service for cardin is set for friday, ahead of his funeral at riverside national cemetery. flags were flown at half- staff across california in his honor this week. fort bliss and the first armored division will be welcoming a new commander in the near future. major general robert white will soon be in command of the 1st armored division on post – taking over for major general steffan twitty. white is currently the deputy chief of staff with forces comand at fort bragg – in north carolina. fort bliss has not set a date for the change of command. yesterday vietnam veterans and family members gathered in las cruces for the rededication of the vietnam war memorial monument. it’s taken nine years of work, but the las cruces vietnam veteran memorial is officially complete. there were mixed emotions as some vietnam veterans say it was their first time getting closure in public: 21 gun salute lawrence orvis, american legion: “we didn’t have any ‘thank yo for your service,’ no ‘welcome home’ when you come home” more than one thousand people welcomed veterans saturday, greeting them with food and song. a refurbished huey helicopter officially mounted and now hovers above the memorial wall at veterans memorial park. the wall opened last year, but it is now complete with the addition of helicopter. once a welcome sight for servicemen who were injured in the war. singing organizers speaking to the importance of recognizing those who fought in the vietnam war and remembering their sacrifice j. joe martinez, organizer “man killed, many died before they got home, their families were left in a wreck because they lost their father or their mother” the names of those killed in action taps now etched into marble at the memorial, where they will stay for veterans memorial. we were at the unveiling yesterday. veterans and their families and friends brought photos and paid their respects for the el pasoans who made the ultimate sacrifice. the pyramid made of black granite, honors the more than 200 el pasoans who were killed or missing in action during the vietnam war. the memorial is located at flags across american in northeast el paso “it’s so saturday raising funds for the family of officer david ortiz. two weeks ago – ortiz was patrolling on motorcycle – when he was hit by a car at a red light in east el paso. police are saying that crash was intentional. the driver who allegidly hit ortiz is 45-year- old john paul perry. ortiz later died from his injuries and perry is being charged with capital murder. to help support the ortiz family – hal’s hobby shop held a fundraiser. the shop usually holds radio controlled car races every week. for yesterday’s races – hal’s charged an additional 5 dollars to race – and that extra money was donated to the ortiz family. “if it was your family you woul want someone to do something – just put yourself in that position. it is something that will make you think twice when you do it.” the
