an easter sunday celebrated with automatic weapons- from the catherdral at notre dame to saint peter’s square?. heartbreak amid the horror?. on-cam tag: tk? four americans are now confirmed among the victims of the belgium bombings. new this morning— mexico’s federal police say they have detained a man identified as one of the top money launderers for drug lord joaquin “el chapo guzman. the federal police said on its twitter account sunday that juan manuel alvarez was detained in oaxaca. it was unclear whether alvarez was allegedly operating a financial network in oaxaca. oaxaca is hundreds of miles from guzman’s pacific coast home state of sinaloa. the sinaloa cartel has long been viewed as mexico’s most profitable drug gang. guzman was the one of the cartel’s top leaders before he was arrested in january. abc-7 is still waiting to learn if charges will be filed in a deadly crash that happened over the weekend. police have identified the man killed as 40-year-old francisco carrasco. police say- a 19- year-old man lost control of his vehicle and hit the mini-van you see on your screen. carrasco and another passenger inside the van were ejected. carrasco died at the scene. police believe the 19-year old man had been drinking and speeding — but have not identified him yet. meanwhile…no arrests have been made in a stabbing that left three men hurt over the weekend. it happened shortly before three saturday morning on the 13-hundred block of lee trevino at liquor dicks. police say the three men were stabbed by two men in the parking lot of the bar — the pair then drove away – running over one of the victims as they were leaving. all three victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. police believe the incident may be gang related. the el paso fire department is investigating a fire at an abandoned property on cotton and myrtle. neighbors say – this isn’t the first time this property has caught fire… ” “im not surprised becaus this is the third fire within the last 3 months within this small block that we are on why is that? we’re just seeing a lot more of the homeless coming in and out of the area and a lot of them are taking refuge in the abandoned buildings to keep warm at night and so thats what we’re seeing the fires from” neighbors tell abc-7 a shed behind the property caught fire yesterday. while it was small, they say this part of a larger problem here in west el paso. neighbors say some homeless people take shelter there, and start fires to stay warm. the fire department did not officially tell us the cause of the fire. now it’s time to take a look at the tx-dot traffic cams… the utep women’s miner basketball team is looking for another win tonight in the w-n-i-t as they take on the oregon ducks at the don haskins center. ” “we’re going to have a b test on monday night” “the shoot the ball real well, we got to be ready to play defense and just keep doing the little things” the women haven’t lost a game at home all season long. if they take home the win tonight they’ll make it to the final four. while more than 7,000 gathered to cheer on the miners last week, you can bet the house will be more full tonight. the game starts at 7:05. good luck to the ladies on the court tonight. we still have much more to come here on good morning el paso — as families mourned for their loved ones killed in brussels– protestors stormed the memorial with a shocking symbol ..we’ll have the latest from the capital of belgium. plus—easter is over, but there is still a 150-year old tradition happening at the white house later this morning– / but first – stormtrack weather! stormtracker nichole gomez has your complete forecast. nichole… and this is abc-7, where news comes first!
