Community Champion: Franklin Girls Soccer

The Franklin girls soccer team has accomplished a lot this year. In fact, it seems the only thing they haven’t done is lose.

The undefeated Cougars cruised past Amarillo Tascosa, 6-0, in round one of the 6A playoffs last week. That victory sets up a showdown with Arlington Lamar on Friday.

The reason the Cougars have been so successful this year? There’s really no secret. They say they just work as hard as they can.

“You can’t stop when you get tired. You can’t stop when everybody’s giving up,” said striker Anahi Hernandez. “You know, you’ve got to be that person to push your team.”

The Cougars were back on the practice field Monday hoping to perfect their game in what has been, up to this point, the perfect season.

“It’s not how much you want it, but how much effort you’re actually putting in compared to everyone else,” said striker Lauren Mlouhi.
