Chihuahuas vs. Padres exhibition game to be televised on El Paso-Las Cruces CW

KVIA-TV and FOX Sports San Diego are partnering up to televise the El Paso Chihuahuas exhibition game versus the San Diego Padres.

The game, which will be carried on Fox Sports San Diego, will be televised on the El Paso – Las Cruces CW March 31st with the first pitch slated for 6:35 p.m.

“The chance to show off Southwest University Park on Fox Sports San Diego is a wonderful opportunity to highlight El Paso, the Chihuahuas, and our Ballpark,” said MountainStar Sports President, Alan Ledford.

“We’re also excited that those who are unable to attend the game can enjoy it locally on the El Paso-Las Cruces CW. Our thanks go out to the Padres and KVIA and the CW for helping to make this possible.”

FOX Sports’ seasoned broadcast crew of Don Orsillo (play-by-play) and Mark Sweeney (analyst) will call the action.

“KVIA-TV is honored to provide the viewing public the opportunity to watch the historic Padres/Chihuahuas exhibition game on ABC-7’s sister station, the El Paso-Las Cruces CW,” said Kevin Lovell, KVIA-TV General Manager.

“I commend MountainStar Sports Group President Alan Ledford and the Chihuahuas and Padres organizations for permitting this broadcast to be shown live in our market.”

The El Paso-Las Cruces CW is available to everyone in the El Paso/Las Cruces region on 7.2 over the air. Viewers can also watch the game on Time Warner Cable channel 13, Comcast Cable channel 14, Direct TV and Dish Network on channels 8 and 17, respectively, and on AT&T U-verse channel 19.

In addition to the televised broadcast, the game will also air on the Padres radio network, including the team’s flagship station, XPRS-AM The Mighty 1090, and be carried locally on 600 ESPN El Paso.

Longtime Padres broadcaster Ted Leitner and Chihuahuas broadcaster Tim Hagerty will call the action.
