Trump protestors gather at San Jacinto Plaza to send message
Anti-Trump protests made their way to the borderland.
Friday night over a hundred protestors joined in on the “Not My President” rally.
“You know more than anything this rally is just a way to voice our frustration with the government, the GOP and I hope what people take away from this, if anything, is that is don’t become cynical, don’t lose hope for the country because as long as they care about the future then there is a future,” said protestor Vienne Perez.
Protestors tell ABC-7 President Donald Trump is running on a platform of fear and he’s been disrespectful to groups that are valuable to the country.
Others say Trump is a racist, a sexist, a misogynist, a disgrace to humanity and the country.
There were also a few Trump supporters at the rally.
One man told ABC-7 he he feels Trump is a voice for the people and appreciates that he wants to focus on America instead of overseas.
Supporters also like the fact that Trump wants to put an end to free trade deals.
“What you’re seeing is what they have left, with what they started with. It’s basically writing off a whole group of people as racist, sexist, xenophobic and Islamaphobic and that didn’t work,” Trump supporter Ryan Johann Perry said.
Protestors said they are exercising their 1st Amendment(right)
Trump supporters say protesting on Veterans Day shows the group’s anti-authority -anti-majority views.
