Weather roller coaster with near-record warmth Friday & Saturday before cold front moves in

The ABC-7 StormTRACK Weather team issued an ABC-7 First Alert.

A strong backdoor cold front will begin moving into the Borderland Sunday morning.
The front will bring gusty winds, especially along west-facing mountain slopes where gusts
of 45 to 50 mph will be possible.

A strong low pressure area will move into the Borderland from the west, this system will bring snow to higher elevation areas, with mostly rain in the lowlands.

The rain may mix or change over to snow for a time period Monday and Tuesday morning.
Snow may also affect some of the lower mountain passes including Transmountain.

Friday afternoon looks great, with possible record high temperatures through Saturday. The winds will start picking up Saturday afternoon.
