CBP: Smugglers leave Mexican woman dangling from border fence

Smugglers left a woman dangling from the border fence Monday in Nogales, Ariz., officials with Customs and Border Protection said.

U.S. Border Patrol agents spotted the two smugglers trying to lower the Mexican woman onto the U.S. side, using a harness and hoist rope, according to a news release. When the agents approached them, the woman apparently tried to climb back into Mexico, but the smuggles ditched her and left her dangling.

The woman was left suspended approximately 15 feet above the ground before agents called the Nogales Fire Department to help get her down.

The 37-year-old woman was not injured.
