CoWork Oasis to provide environment for tech innovation and startups

It may look like an ordinary downtown building from the outside, but on the inside, there’s a work space packed with the latest technology.

“CoWork Oasis is a novel approach towards changing the way about building technology businesses,” said Beto Pallares, co-founder and managing director of CoWork Oasis.

“We are promoting a conduit towards areas of innovation and bringing it here,” Pallares told ABC-7.

Even getting into the CoWork Oasis building takes some new technology. It uses a smartphone app to unlock the doors.

The workspace is wide open space, complete with a living room area. “This will be our chill out lounge,” Pallares said.

A kitchen with amenities like a refrigerator, microwave, coffee and adult beverages. “Beverage service, that’s free to members,” Pallares said.

There are three conference rooms,”each with its own technology set up,” Pallares added.

There is also a place for a quick refresher. “This is a shower that conserves 70 percent water,” Pallares said.

What Pallares touts is not just a “techie” workspace, but more than 10 years of experience and knowledge with startups and the technology industry.

“We have licenses for different programs to teach people how to code and how to do programming and how to do gaming,” said Pallares.

There’s also workshops and resources they can provide.

“We also have access to experts on intellectual property matters, funding matters, if you’re a startup, co-founding a company or working outside of here and outsourcing,” Pallares said.

CoWork Oasis has packages ranging from $3 an hour to monthly memberships for $150.

CoWork Oasis is located at 114 Texas Avenue and will be opening its doors July 20.
