TASB warns Texas school district employees of data breach

The Texas Association of School Boards says it will provide information on credit monitoring services for school district employees whose personal information might have been compromised.

On its website, the TASB said it was recently notified that personal information of Texas school district employees, including names and social security numbers, was accessible through a TASB website application.

TASB has notified affected districts of this exposure.

The TASB urges anyone who received a letter about this incident to take it seriously, saying the letter is legitimate. The letter includes a phone number and information for further instructions on how to obtain credit monitoring.
