Las Cruces Police said it began around 7 p.m. after a late model SUV with two subjects inside was reported to police.

Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved as the driver led them on a 40-minute chase through the city with speeds up to 90 mph.

Initial reports stated the driver led police through city streets, then onto Interstate 10, back into the city, and then onto I-25.
