Montwood High band director arrested, accused of having improper relationship with student
The police department’s Crimes Against Children unit arrested and charged an educator at Montwood High School for allegedly having an improper relationship with a student.
Albert Licon, 38, was charged with Improper Relationship Between Student and Teacher.
Police said an investigation revealed Licon, a Band Director at Montwood High School, had engaged in sexual contact with a female student.
Police arrested Licon and booked him into the El Paso County Detention Facility July 17, 2017.
Licon’s bond was set at $25,000.
Crimes Against Children is asking for anybody who believes that they may have been a victim to contact them at 915.212.0382.
The school district sent parents a recorded message notifying them of the arrest. A spokesman for SISD sent ABC-7 the transcript:
“Hello, I am calling from the Socorro Independent School District to inform you that we received a report of alleged inappropriate conduct by an employee at Montwood High School. The Socorro Independent School District takes every allegation very seriously and immediately initiated an investigation. The safety and security of our students is our number one priority! The individual named in the allegation was promptly placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of our investigation. Due to confidentiality laws, this is all the information we are able to share at this time. That said, we assure you that the Socorro Independent School District takes all necessary action to ensure the continued safety and security of our children at Montwood High School. Thank you for your continued trust and support of Team SISD!”
