Aaron Jones wraps up 2-day football camp at the Sun Bowl

Former UTEP football running back and now Green Bay Packer player, Aaron Jones, held the second and final day of his camp Saturday morning. All the kids who participated received a complementary Aaron Jones camp T-shirt and they also got to experience the camp, for free. “(Jones) sees and recognizes the talent pool that is here in El Paso,” Adrian Rivera, a father watching his kids at the camp, said. “The economic status may be a little more challenging in some areas but being free, this is great.” While day one experienced a couple of weather delays before the players got on the field, day two wasn’t a problem. “It’s looking good,” Jones said. “We’re out here having fun” As an NFL player who was born and raised in El Paso, Jones is an inspiration to the younger community. “(My children) look up to a lot of local heroes like Jack Fields and Aaron Jones,” Rivera said. The all time leader for UTEP in rushing yards both in a single season and through his career hopes that these kids will someday make it big like he has. “That’s my dream, I hope they do that,” Jones said. “I want to see more kids from El Paso make it to where I am.” Jones will now head for training camp with the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday.
