‘Juarez Border Market’ organizers want County of El Paso to get involved

Members of Chihuahua’s innovation and economic development department met with county commissioners Monday to discuss the upcoming “Juarez Border Market” event.

The event is a way for local and regional companies in Chihuahua to showcase products. Its slogan is: “It’s time to build a new bridge that connects Juarez and Chihuahua with the world.”

Omar Saucedo, with the Chihuahua Department of Innovation, said he wants the County of El Paso to be involved with the event because he wants to continue to build up partnerships between El Paso and Juarez.

More than 90 companies will have booths showcasing their products, organizers said.

Saucedo said his goal is to continue to promote trade and innovation between the two border cities.

The event is August 17-19 at the Pueblito Mexicano in Juarez.

Coming up on ABC-7 at 5 you’ll hear what county commissioners think of the event, and why they say building relationships with the state of Chihuahua is important.
