2017 National Night Out events to be held in Downtown Las Cruces

The Las Cruces Police Department and area first responders will be hosting Tuesday evening’s National Night out, a kid-friendly even that allows residents to meet their neighbors and area first responders.

The event is scheduled to take place August 1, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. on Main Street in Downtown Las Cruces.

Parking will be available in surrounding lots along Main Street or at City Hall.

Las Cruces Police will hold giveaways and a free “Ident-A-Child event,” where parents and caregivers will receive a photo ID card that can prove helpful if a child is lost or goes missing.

The mission of this yearly event is to allow residents to interact with law enforcement and to promote crime prevention.
