Police charge couple who allegedly starved English Mastiff, dog euthanized

El Paso Police say they found a female English Mastiff emaciated from a lack of food and dehydration after responding to a call on the 2100 block of Diciembre.

The dog, named Bella, was taken in to Animal Services, but eventually had to be euthanized due to her worsening condition.

The incident happened on September 30th, but 44-year-old Zaida Gonzalez Torres and 48-year-old Noel Fernando Neri Chico were not arrested until Tuesday morning.

Torres and Chico were charged with Cruelty to non-livestock animals and booked into El Paso County Detention Facility under $3,500 bonds.
