2,900 students earn degrees at UTEP Spring Commencement

There are 2,900 new UTEP graduates in the borderland. Saturday was the spring commencement for the following: The College of Liberal Arts, School of Nursing, colleges of Education and Business Administration, colleges of Science, Engineering and Health Sciences and School of Pharmacy.

“The moment I was holding that diploma, it’s the best felling in the world,” Christian Morales Castaneda said. Castaneda earned his degree in English and American Literature.

Rachel Arreola earned a degree in Theater Arts. She said she is grateful for the support her parents have given her.

“I’m honored and thankful and blessed that they’re here to support me,” Arreola said.

Green Bay Packer and former UTEP running back Aaron Jones also earned walked across the stage and received his diploma.

Saturday’s event took place at the Don Haskins Center.
