Las Cruces:

Las Cruces High School softball team crowned New Mexico state champions of 6A.

Las Cruces defeated Volcano Vista 8-6 in the first game of the day to force a winner take all game. Las Cruces would defeat Volcano Vista again by a final of 12-2 in the championship game.
