TRAFFIC ALERT: I-10 closed at Sunland Park for 57 hours

I-10 is closed in both directions at Sunland Park for 57 hours.

It closed Friday at 9 p.m. and won’t open up until Monday at 6 a.m.

Sunland Park Drive in both directions will also close between Mesa Hills Drive and Doniphan Drive, and the Resler entrance ramp to I-10 East will close as well.

TXDOT told ABC-7 that the reason for the closure is so crews can demolish the overpass and steel beams that hold it up, along with most of the older freeway structures surrounding Sunland Park Drive.

Drivers will need to exit at Sunland Park (Exit 13) and re-enter I-10 at the next ramp.

Your alternate routes are Mesa and Doniphan.
