UTEP QB leaves team for Maryland

Two star prospect quarterback and UTEP signee Brayden Hawkins has left the team.

The pro style QB has walked on with the University of Maryland where he has already started practicing.

Losing any player isn’t a good thing but the miners had seven quarterbacks on the roster when the team left for Ruidoso.

This is what what Hawkins had to say.

“UTEP is a great school and the reason why i picked UTEP was because of coach Mike Canales. He is a great man and a great coach. I am going to miss not getting to play for him.”

Hawkins graduated last year from Myers Park High School in North Carolina.
