Architects, community discuss improvements to Montwood H.S.

Improvements for Montwood High School are in the works.

A meeting held Tuesday night at the school in east El Paso brought together architects and Montwood students, parents and faculty to go over what they want done to the campus.

A big part of the design is a new auditorium.

“The school has the smallest auditorium in this area,” said Tom Eyeington, the Chief Operations Officer for the Socorro Independent School District. “One of the major projects that we would like to do to this facility for the fine arts is to create a comparable auditorium that will match other schools.”

Funding for the improvements is from the 2017 bond.

The architects will return with their ideas based on student and parent suggestions in a few weeks.
