EPPD: Man visiting ex-girlfriend stabbed by woman’s new boyfriend

A man who visited his ex-girlfriend suffered life-threatening injuries when he was stabbed by a man currently dating the woman, El Paso Police said.

Cornell Lamar Woods, 36, is charged with aggravated assault.

The stabbing was reported Sunday, December 30, 2018 on the 3800 block of Lincoln at 12:13 p.m.

Police officers were responding to a fight when they found Remos Antwyn Lovett, 37, suffering from stab wounds to his head and chest.

Police located Woods, the suspect, at an apartment at 3811 Lincoln and took him into custody.

Detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit learned Lovett went to the to the apartment complex to visit his ex-girlfriend, who is currently dating Woods.

Woods told Lovett to leave, then went outside and stabbed Lovett as he was walking away, police said.
