Woman hospitalized after dog attack in Sparks

A Sparks woman was hospitalized after being attacked by a pack of dogs on Wednesday morning, El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies said.

The attack happened in the 12700 block of Bunyun Way.

The victim told deputies that five gray dogs entered her yard and attacked her dog; the lady said she was bitten repeatedly when she jumped in to try to protect her pet.

The woman was recovering at Del Sol Medical Center and deputies were questioning neighbors about the incident.

A neighbor, who lives across the street from the victim, tells ABC-7 that the woman is accusing his dogs of being involved in the attack.

But Henry Chavez maintains that his dogs are always tied up whenever the dogs are outside.

Chavez says deputies knocked on his door wanting to see his dogs.

“I told them and I showed them right away, even before I came out, they were tied,” Chavez said. “So I have no idea how they came about my dogs attacking this person when I only have three, and she claims it was five.”

ABC-7 spoke with a woman who lives on the same property as the victim.

She says the victim is her grandson’s wife and that she is still in the hospital.

She says her granddaughter-in-law had to have surgery on her arm and that she suffered numerous bites to her face and legs.
