Power restored to nearly 2,000 Upper Valley customers; cause under investigation

El Paso Electric confirms they are investigating the cause of a power outage that left nearly 2,000 people without power for over an hour.

The El Paso Electric outage map showed that nearly 2,000 customers were without power since from 3:24 a.m. to just before 5 a.m.

The outage was near the intersection of Doniphan Drive and Sunset Road in El Paso’s Upper Valley.

EPE’s map specifically said that 1,814 customers are affected.

A TxDOT camera at the intersection of Doniphan and Sunset was still on during the outage, but showed a very dark area.
