MONTANA VISTA, Texas -- Firefighters from two departments battled a large house blaze late Monday afternoon in an unincorporated section of El Paso County.

Fire dispatchers and neighbors said the home burning was located at 15120 Gwendolyn Drive in Montana Vista.

Thick black smoke could be seen rising into the sky over that neighborhood shortly after the fire broke out about 3:30 p.m. and authorities closed Gwendolyn Drive from Big Acacia to Century.

Firefighters from both Montana Vista and Horizon were eventually able to bring the fire under control and there were no reports of any injuries.
