New Community Closet seeks donations to help El Pasoans who are down and out

EL PASO, Texas -- The Fresh Start Community Closet headed by Patricia Torres wants to take what El Pasoans don't need and give it to people who do.

The Fresh Start Community Closet is a part of the Kelly Center for Hunger Relief.

Torres told ABC-7, “A lot of our community members are looking for a job and they don't have clothing to go to an interview; so a lot of the clothing we need is professional clothing so they can go ahead and look professional for those interviews.”

She hopes that there are El Pasoans who are looking to get rid of items they no longer need so she can make them available to those seeking a leg up.

“We also need more hangers, clothing racks, mirrors, full length mirrors.  So when ever our community members come in to try on the clothes, they can go ahead and look at themselves.  We can have it all set up for them," and "children’s clothing, small appliances and household items we will accept,” Torres shared.

If you would like to donate items you can find them at 915 Florecnce from Tuesday through Friday, 9AM to 2PM and Saturday 9AM to 12PM.

Their phone number is 915-261-7499 ext:104
