VA throws annual baby shower
EL PASO, Texas - The El Paso VA is throwing their annual baby shower for expectant veteran and active duty mom's.
The VA is asking the public for help in collecting all types of items that mothers can use when their happy bundle arrives.
Peer Service Coordinator Shelia Anthony said, “I know they are asking for car seats, diapers, baby wipes, bottles, clothing. Anything you can think of that a mom-to-be could utilize.”
Anthony explained that they throw the baby shower for veteran pregnant women who are alone and also spouses who's husbands are deployed.
They are trying to collect items for around 50 families.
“It's already a stressful time. You know you are about to have a baby. You know you're unsure so if you're able to participate, donate anything baby item related, we can show them how much we appreciate veterans.”
