WATCH: Beto O’Rourke interrupts Gov. Abbott’s news conference on school shooting response

UVALDE, Texas - As Texas Gov. Greg Abbott was about to hand off the mic to Texas Lt. Gov. Dan. Patrick, Texas Democratic candidate for Governor Beto O'Rourke, interrupted the news conference.

O'Rourke came up to the speakers saying, "This is totally predictable."

Patrick can be heard telling O'Rourke, "You're out of line and an embarrassment."

"Sit down and don't play this stuff," Cruz said, shaking his head.

The Texas Tribune reports Betto said “You are doing nothing," O'Rourke said. "You are offering up nothing. You said this was not predictable. This was totally predictable when you choose not to do anything."

The Tribune reports Uvalde's Mayor as saying “I can’t believe that you’re a sick son of a bitch that would come to a deal like this to make a political issue."

O'Rourke was led away by security.

Outside the venue, O'Rourke said of Abbbott, "He came to my hometown of El Paso after 23 people were slaughtered. He said he was going to do something. He did nothing. In fact, the only thing he did was make it easier to buy a gun. The only thing he did was make it easier to carry a gun in public. And he bragged about the fact that there would be no background check no training, no vetting whatsoever."
