19-year-old arrested after early morning DPS pursuit, crash
EL PASO, Texas - The Texas Department of Public Safety say that the man arrested as the result of Wednesday morning's pursuit has been identified as 19-year-old Milton Gonzalez Aguilar of Mexico.
Aguilar is being charged with fleeing a motor vehicle. He is being accused of driving the red Chevrolet Equinox that a Texas State Trooper attempted to pull over on I-10 at milepost 35 for a traffic violation. The driver then fled. 7 other undocumented immigrants were in the car at the time.
Aguilar is then accused of leading police on a 20 minute chase near State Loop 375 and I-10 before a trooper performed a PIT maneuver, causing the Equinox to flip. One of the immigrants was ejected. Both Aguilar and his passengers were taken to the hospital for their injuries, with the immigrants later bering released to United State Border Patrol for processing.
