Tik Tok includes misinformation in its search engine

A new report is claiming one of the top social media platforms is delivering misinformation to young users. According to Newsguard's Misinformation, nearly 20% of the videos that appear when you search Tik Tok contain some form of misinformation.

Researchers say they compared search engine results from Tik Tok and Google this month. Some of the topics included the 2020 election and the war in Ukraine. According to the study, researchers found that Tik Tok repeatedly delivered videos that contain false claims in the first 20 results. Tik Tok's search engine also contained health misinformation and dangerous claims.
