LAS CRUCES, New Mexico -- Video obtained by ABC-7 shows the August 2 incident that led to the death of a 36-year-old man at a Chevron gas station on South Valley and University.

Police have identified the man as Presley Eze. Police cam video shows officers asking Eze to exit his vehicle.

According to ABC-7 archives, employees at the Chevron store called the police to report a shoplifting attempt. Police say Eze gave them a false name and birthdate two separate times.

Police say the man was verbally and physically resistive despite officers telling him why he needed to exit the car.

Police say after the Eze was taken out, a physical altercation occurred where at least one shot was fired. Eze was pronounced dead at the scene.

The video obtained by ABC-7 was released with parts blurred out. ABC-7 blurred out a section that shows Eze bleeding on the ground. ABC-7 also edited audio portions where expletives are heard.

The identities of the officers were not released.

According to LCPD, one officer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
