Bi-National Border Mass held between Juarez and El Paso

EL PASO, Texas-- People from El Paso, Ciudad Juarez and Las Cruces came together to pray for those who have died attempting to cross the border into the United States.

The 25th annual event was hosted by the Diocese of El Paso.

Bishop Mark Seitz says there was a bigger picture at hand today when all came together to pray.

It is to pray for those who are currently trying to cross the border, that nations can come together to help those seeking asylum in The United States. Seitz believes if these nations can come together, the pain could be avoided that is happening with lives being lost trying to cross the border.

While many of the attendees were from the Borderland, people from as far from St. Louis came to attend this Mass.

Bishop Seitz also believes that this mass can serve as an opportunity that in his words, "all of us are children of God, and that there is only one that is above us as human beings, so we must help each other."
