EL PASO, Texas -- The El Paso Medical Examiner's Office is warning residents of phone scams.

Officials told ABC-7, they have received a high volume of people claiming they are getting calls from the County.

According to officials, the Medical Examiner's office was not trying to contact them.

The Medical Examiner's office will never leave a message or make a call without providing the name of the investigator and a number to call back, officials said.

Additionally, people who are contacted by the Office of the Medical Examiner will always receive a call back if no one is able to answer.
