Juarez residents are still without electricity after weekend’s storm

JUAREZ, Chihuahua (KVIA) -- After Sunday's strong winds, several Juarez residents have reported being without electricity for days.

Some of them were more than 24 hours without any power and others even more than three days. Some of these neighborhoods are located in Southern areas of Juarez.

Protests around these neighborhoods were held by Juarez residents for not getting the service back.

They even blocked some streets with signs waiting for a response from the CFE (Comisión Federal de Electricidad).

El Diario de Juarez reported on Monday that employees with the electric company worked overnight to fix this problem. They also reported the CFE said on Wednesday the service had been restored in some neighborhoods, but there was no confirmation it happened in all of them.

On Wednesday, the CFE is also scheduled to suspend the electricity in other neighborhoods due to work they need to do.
